The app is amazing and I have struck up friendships with people who are travelling and about to travel and I look forward to meeting them when we are in the same place at the same time, Now the app basically tells you if people are going to be in the same places as you at the same time, has a common room so you can talk to fellow travellers and get advise, help and tips before or during your journey.
I downloaded the app a few months before I left the UK and got talking to a wide range of people who were just about to set off on their travels and people that were already on the road, the app also has local people on there offering accommodation and help when you arrive into a new place. So the people I have met on their all seem to be cool and I am hoping to catch up with most if not all of them at some point in the near future.
We have Scott who is fulfilling a life long dream to travel and live in New Zealand, I am trying to stay clear of his Facebook though as I don't want to spoil it for myself ha ha. Will be certainly meeting for a beer or two when I get there.
Then Tom who has been on hand as and when I needed advice about India, he is currently in Asia but started his journey as I did in India.
We have Becki who is literally living the dream in Oz right now Becki was the first person I really started talking with on the app its been great to give each other advice and see each others pics.
We also have Rebecca who is currently travelling around New Zealand with her mum!! How awesome is that although i'd end up killing mine if she travelled with me. This girl has been to more places in the world than Judith Chalmers ha ha again Rebecca has been on hand for advise about camper vans and what not in NZ ha ha thanks mate.
Then Mustafa from the US he is heading over to India for the Holi Festival, which is the main reason I am here, It's been really good chatting to him and giving him advice etc and I am looking forward to meeting up with him in a couple of weeks when he gets here.
And last but not least the new people I have spoke with over the last few days, we have Cheryl who is currently in Asia but heading over to India, I hope the help and advice I have given her serves her well and maybe just maybe we can meet for a beer or two. Then Fiona, she is heading out on her big trip in about 15 weeks and has family in Standish so we already have some common ground, Although her fear of midgets could be a problem in the future as I fooking love them ha ha and last but certainly not least we have Laura, now this girl is currently sat on a plane on her way to Bangkok now Laura gets a special mention because this girl is taking a travel iron with her round the world, yes that's right a travel iron. I will be certainly using her laundry service when I arrive in Asia ha ha Ive said it before and ill say it again it's not what you know its who you know in the world ha ha.
Now the main reason for this post was to put the app put there for anyone that is or thinking of travelling it has been a god send and i have also really enjoyed giving people helping advice (although don't come crying to me when it turns out my advice was wrong OK ha ha) Now meeting people is probably one of the easiest things to do when travelling especially if you're staying in hostels but the app put me in contact with people before I got out on the road and I know it has help the others I have mentioned in this blog. To know there are people out there now all over the world I can just drop a quick message too if I need help and advice is really reassuring. I really really recommend the app to all current and new travellers.
